I am configuring ADS on CE 7.2 with SSL.  I was able to get everything working before configuring SSL but now I have a problem.

It seems the communication between ABAP (serverA) and J2EE (serverB) is not working.

In CE, when I try to ping desitnation:  FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>  I get an error:   Error during ping operation: Ping not successful! Received HTTP response 404.   I have this configured to use keystore view ADSCerts - ssl-credentials (with self-signed certificates for testing). But even when I change it to basic, it still doesn't ping.

Then when I try to test the SM59 connnection (ADS), I get the following error:  HTTPIO_PLG_CANCELED

I have this set up as "DEFAULT SSL CLIENT (STANDARD)" -with 50001 as the system number.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

None of the PDF reports work.  I get errors:

Hi all there is some issue in the Demo scenerio which was  developed previously

I just need to make a simple GP .

I have 3 actions each of which hold a Callable Obj (a VC screen with simple buttons)

Normally when we go through a set of actions in a block , once the previous action is over , it displays as Action Completed .

But I want to go back to the previous action.

In 7.0 , we could define the Result States for each action and then change the target .

But in 7.1 that doesnt work.

So how do I do that now .

Can I put all the actions in one block and then switch or do I need to put them in seperate blocks and then do something.

Please reply if anyone has any knowledge about this

I want to develop a web application with NWDS (Dynamic Web Project) which uses BASIC authentication.

I tried to set the Authentication Method in the web.xml (see [NWCE lib|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/3e/ee7aa1ab8b4442bab00ba3171cef72/frameset.htm]) but it doesn't work, access is still possible w/o authentication. I also set BASIC authentation in NWA -> Configuration Management -> Authentication but no success.

Does anybody know how to do that?

while trying to run functional unit configuration of ESR in CE I get the following Error:

"Problems in running initial permission script initialPermissions.xml , please check Generic Creator and rerun Service"

After this exception the whole Application Server restarts. Can anybody explain me what to do ?

We are installing NW CE 7.1 in Production Environment in Distributed Mode - App Server on one host and DB Server on another host.

The App and DB server OS are Windows Server 2008 R2 and DB is Oracle 11g. We have successfully installed SCS on the app server and now installing DB Server Instance on the DB Host. While installing the same, the SAP Installtion asks for path of SAPMNT.

Our Network Team has informed that due to security reasons, in production data center they will not be able to allow sharing of folder from App Server. They have asked us to check if there is any other way of completing our installation without actually creating folder share on App Server.

We would like to know whether the sharing can be taken out of the server component and the same can be enabled on the different machine and this can be given the UNC path for accessing the same.

Kindly confirm if this is possible and supported by SAP. Also let us  know if there are some other supported options regarding the same.

I have used the SAPMAKE Utilities on command line to package our application in SCA.

I first created SDA files for the given PAR and EPA files which are exported from portal 7.0 Before creating our SDA file for the specified EPA, I excluded the references from the EPA so that it wouldn't have the PAR files. Then I put all our SDAs in the same folder, and created an SCA package for that folder.(I also tried with the EPAs including the PARs)

When I try to deploy this SCA package on the 7.30 portal via JSPM, I get an error. You can find the related log below.

I especially wonder if it is because of the related line below "epaFile must be an existing file"

Hallo experts

I used adaptive Web service to import one remote Service and use this Service in my Application Service.

Server: SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Enh.

After the deployment  I got the following error:

com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.XmlUnmarshalException: XML Deserialization Error. Empty node passed to deserializer http://com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.encoding.primitive.DateTimeSD which is not acceptable.

I noticed that the item has the field <DateFrom> which no value is filled. Is this the reason that causes this problem? If it is, how can I get the result in this case without occuring this error. Because we get always Items from the backend that some fields were not filled.

I installed yesterday NW2004s (700 - Codeline 645)(BS8.4).  Now I can't create a callable object with Data Forms Input. Under Data Forms I could only find 4 types:

Data Input Form, Data Display Form, Data Display and Acknowlegement and File Input Form.

I have a new installatoin of Compositon Environment 7.2. When I try to access http://<serverIP>:50000/irj/portal I get a 403 Forbidden error. I am not asked to log in.

Automatic configuration (http://<serverIP>:50000/sld/fun) failed. (I have no trouble accessing this screen or NWA after logging in.)  Maybe this is part of the problem. What are the configuration steps that need to be performed manaually?

I am configuring SSL on a CE 7.2 SP05 Java system.  I have created a public key and sent it to SAP Marketplace for a temporary response certificate.  I do the "check certificate" process under key storage and it gets a green light and everything looks good.

Then I try to export it to PSE and I get this error:  PSE for view not updated or not created -> Missing CA certificate: 'CN=Server CA,OU=Server,O=SAP Trust Community,C=DE'

cProjects is used to manage projects. By release SAP 4.6 C, SAP PS had a wide ranging functionality and was closely integrated with other modules. The variety of functionality became an obstacle however when running projects that required fewer functions and placed greater importance on ease of use. A product was required that would complement SAP PS and make SAP more attractive to an extended user group.

cProjects is a solution for collaborative project management. Hence it is geared towards project participants rather than project managers. These include resource manager and other project stakeholders who require access to the current project status, managers who make resources available and employees involved in the project. The objective of cProjects is to provide a standard platform that meets the planning and information needs of all project participants. This also includes external partners who are also working on the project. 

cProjects expands the user group addressed by SAP solutions in the project management environment because it focuses on supporting both business oriented project activities and operational project and resource management. This was achieved by cProjects. One example of this sort of function is time recording with Cross Application Timesheet (CATS), which has been available for many years, but which is also possible via cProjects. cProjects is divided into a number of functional areas namely: Projects, Tasks, Checklist items, Approval, Control Plans, Evaluations, User groups, Templates, Substitutions and Versions.

The project definition is the highest level object in the project structure. One needs to create a project type maintained in the configuration while one is trying to create the project. The type controls which functions are available to the user within the project and the behaviour of the individual fields. There is an option to perform top-down scheduling and bottom-up scheduling. Projects can also be multi-phased. Phases enable to carry out an explicit approval process. For each phase, one can have approvals required which will lead to completion of the phase. This provides stronger control on the lifecycle of the project. Decision makers must be present to perform an approval. These must be assigned to a project role that is used to define the decision maker.

There are tasks, milestones and checklists associated with a project. Tasks describe work packages. One can define planned duration and scheduling restrictions using start and end deadlines. Tasks can be scheduled. One can model dependencies between tasks or subtasks using relationships which exist in the form of u201Cstart-startu201D, u201Cstart-endu201D, u201Cend-startu201D, and u201Cend-endu201D relationships. Scheduling determines the scheduling situation for individual tasks. Tasks can also function as milestones. Checklists and checklist items display open items for a project either generally or for specific phases.

Project roles describe the resource demands in a project. A role can be based on a project team memberu2019s required experience and qualifications or on the organizational units that need to collaborate in the project. cProjects provides options for managing the project documents which is done either by storing documents within the project structure in the required cProjects object or one can store the documents in the SAP Netweaver via the Knowledge Provider Interface (KPRO).  Also virtual spaces and cFolders are two solutions for collaborative document management.

Like RPM, cProjects supports authorization for the following objects namely : Project definition, phase, task and subtask, checklist and checklist item and document.

There is an integration with accounting available. The integration is available with the automatic or manual creation of cost objects and the creation of cost planning based on planned resource demands. This integration is called multilevel controlling wherein according to the role or task structure , internal orders and projects are created with the WBS elements in the ERP system or assigned manually to a cProjects project. The calculation considers the following namely : Planned work for the tasks, work for the assigned roles and planned workload for the employees assigned to the roles.

Status reports are used for document based display of current project situation. There are also options to create a cProjects project with reference to a project template, ensuring a standardized project procedure. Like operational checklists, checklist templates comprise individual checklist items and possibly assigned tasks. One can integrate checklists with the project templates via a reference.

There is also an option for evaluation. With its evaluation, cProjects provides independent reporting which enables the analysis of data for an individual project or a version in a tabular form. Evaluation layouts provide the option to define the objects to be evaluated and are also used to define the columns in the report.

cProjects documents changes to the project structure and the project roles by creating change documents. The system also updates the change time, the user who performed the changes and the old and new value of the changed field.

I need some help regarding Vendavo application (3rd party, release 7.6 SP28) installation on SAP NW CE 7.1 having multiple application servers (os: Windows 2008). I am referring the Vendavo installation guide for 7.6 on SAP NW CE platform. I need to build Vendavo application on SAP NW CE having multiple application server. Please can anyone suggest which parameters should be set in config.properties file in Vendavo for application servers ? Also need the steps for installation of Vendavo application on multiple application servers along with primary instance.

I downloaded NWDS "SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1 SP00 PAT0000 Build id: 200807300233". I have Sun JDK 1.5_16 on my machine and proceeded by unpacking the NWDS_Platform.zip file, running NWDS, choosing a new, clean, workspace, pointing to the update site, waiting for hundreds of updates to install... Everything went entirely smoothly.

However: When I started the tutorial "Getting Started with Composite Designer", it turns out there are no Composite Preferences (first step of the tutorial). There is also no "Composite Designer Perspective" or anything else SAP looking in Eclipse (Besides the SAP NWDS windows title and the SAP about dialog). I checked for the installed features and there are plenty of SAP features installed, including "Composite Tools", but it seems like none of them actually show in the Eclipse menus and selections.

Any pointers on how I can make them appear?

In Product Configuration

SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Java EE 8.10  is marked as failure. The specific sub-part that is failing is

SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Facades 7.10 with the following error messages:

No plug-in: "com.sap.s2x" included at runtime.

No plug-in: "com.sap.ide.ext.libs.perf" included at runtime.

No plug-in: "com.sap.mw.jco" included at runtime.

No plug-in: "com.sap.mw.jco3" included at runtime.

Dear All,

As per the SAP NWDS link, I have downloaded the 7.2 software. I have also provided the required jre folder and configured the JVM.

Now, when i try to find and install the updates I obtain an error "Unable to connect to the policy url https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/720/policy.xml". The same url is accessible on the browser but asks for S-user ID.

The network connections is set to "direct connection to internet"

Kindly let me know how to resolve this issue to install the updates.

Hi,

We are planning to install NW 7.3 Developer Workplace on Windows with SQL Server 2008 as DB.

We went through the installation document, but we didn't able to find details on what software we will need to download from service market place, if we don't have DVDs.

Could some one suggest me the list of software components need to download to install NW 7.3 Developer Workplace on Windows (DB: SQL Server 2008)?
